On February 20th, 2010, The Impaling Alers hosted the COC "The Session Challenge"  English Brown Ales.  A total of 78 entries from 31 states and Canada.  The most entries per state was California with 11 followed by Washington with 8.

The winners are:

1st Place BOS "Bitter Bastard Brown" a Northern English Brown Ale 11C: Johnathan Powell from Lynnwood, WA (BREW Beer Renegades of Everett Washington)
2nd Place BOS "Jack's Mild" a Mild 11A:  Nick Fox from Colonia, New Jersey (WHALES Woodbridge Homebrewers Ales & Lager Enthusiests Society)
3rd Place BOS "Knucklehead Nut Brown" a Northern English Brown Ale 11C: Rick Stangel & Dan O'Brien from San Diego, CA (QUAFF)
