Sooo... I'm looking at getting a full-grain set-up for the porch (yes, I live in an apartment with no access to basements or garages) and was wondering if anybody had the pros and cons of an electric set up. And, is a gas set-up feasible. Thanks!

I haven't met anyone who has used the heat stick or electric methods. Takes a fair amount of power draw (which is why I think it has taken more of a hold in countries with 240V) but all of the reports I have seen have been good. Each case has unique aspects with regards to the localization and rates of heat entry. I think due to simplicity and common availability, gas just makes its way out a lot more.

yeah, i'm no double E major, but was thinking of trying to hook something up to the drier plug, which is a 30 amp, 220v... but am not sure it would be enough. then i was curious as to which might hold temps better, etc. if i figure out a system i'll let you know.
